2005 Estate Rosso Italico A fresh, fruity Italian-style red wine consisting of 83% Sangiovese and 17% Dolcetto. Goes well with most Italian cuisine. Not a wimpy wine at 14.3% alcohol, this fruit was ripe when picked. The delicious fruitiness just explodes from the glass as you pour it. We debuted the wine at a charity pouring in mid-September and it was liked by everyone. When the proprietors of the local French charcuterie tasted it, their comments were those appearing just to the right. "Wow! I can see why this is such
a HIT! I get a frolicking fruity
forward, slightly acidic mid-taste,
with a hit of star anise on the finish.
It is not a lingering finish now but I think
that will develop as time goes by.
After
the initial taste, I had it with a goat cheese from the north of France... very nice."
